Magical might not be the word you use to describe your weekly grocery shop, but that’s all about to change because Disney is set to launch limited edition collectibles available exclusively to Woolworths shoppers. The collection comprises 40 unique discs featuring beloved characters from all of your favourite Disney films including Toy Story, Cars, Sleeping Beauty, Star Wars, Inside Out and more. For every $30 you spend at Woolworths, Big W or MILKRUN from July 16 to August 26, you’ll receive one free, unique Disney Disc.
Tim Everett from The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand says the collection is a celebration of the 70th anniversary of Disneyland Resort in California. “It’s a tribute to the magic, memories and imagination that started it all,” he says.
Which Disney Disc is the rarest and most valuable?
Every good collection needs a rare item that people search and search for, and this one is no different. The rarest Disney Disc everyone will be seeking to get their hands on is the Partners Statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. It features an image of the iconic castle from Sleeping Beauty. According to our intel, only a handful of these discs will be in circulation.

What do you do with the Disney Discs?
Serious collectors can purchase an album for $12 to showcase their Disney Discs. Parents will be glad to hear that the album also comes with a foldable board game, which is exactly the kind of activity you’ll need to pry kids away from screens these school holidays. Andrew Harley, head of trade marketing at Woolworths says, “The idea behind the board game is that families can bring the magic of Disneyland Resort in California into their own homes.”
How are fans reacting?
While reactions to the collection launch have been mixed, Disney fans are already gearing up to collect them all. When Facebook user Oh So Busy Mum posted a pic of the Disney Discs store adverts, she received hundreds of comments from those sharing her excitement. “So… like Disney Tazos?! I’m in!” came one reply. Others joked about not wanting to share their collection with the kids, but wanting it all to themselves.
Disney Discs will be available from Woolworths, Big W and MILKRUN from July 16 to August 26. The offer is available to online and in-store shoppers.
