At Government House in Melbourne, Johanna learns about the Peace and Prosperity Kitchen Garden Program, originated by the current Governor, Linda Dessau. As the first female governor, she was keen to champion a cause that encouraged connections within the female migrant community of Melbourne.
After meeting these new Australians in the kitchen garden, Joh drops in on a propagation lesson before eating a home-cooked lunch inside government house featuring freshly picked veggies. These women aren’t just helping to grow veggies, they’re growing a sense of community.
